Official Rules of Omen of the Absol! [UPDATED: 4/12/15]

hello! welcome to Omen of the Absol, a forum i created because i was bored. please follow these rules! breaking them may result in a warning, infraction, or even a ban.

RULES

1. first and foremost, if you have horrible grammar/spelling, you're in a spot of trouble on these forums. please, for the love of god, at least try to type correctly on these forums. no chatspeak is allowed except for the occasional "omg" or "lol". if you have horrible spelling/grammar, i suggest you download google chrome or mozilla firefox or any other browser which offers spell check which corrects spelling errors for you.

there are also options for this. you can type how i'm typing which adds no capitals, and instead just ads proper grammar such as spaces after commas and periods.

if you have a certain disorder or disease such as dyslexia which alters your spelling and grammar, there is an exception. however, i urge you to download a browser that has automatic spell check to make words understandable.

2. do not offend anybody in any way, whether it be based on their race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, class, or anything else. it is unacceptable. threatening other members by saying things such as "i hope you go to hell" or "i'm going to kill you." is also unacceptable. also DO NOT and i repeat NOT offend your superiors! it is disrespectful and just plain rude. don't do it. if you do this, we (moderators/administrators) add more to your infraction points.

3. do not post pornographic material. not only is it a rule on here, it is also a rule on our host, forumotion. pornographic material is just plain disgusting. if you do post pornographic material, whether it be a picture, video, gIfs, or any other way of posting adult content, you will get a permanent ban, no exceptions.

4. SPAM. don't post it.
SPAM is when you post something random out of the top of your head that is not related to the topic you are posting in or the thread you are creating in a certain forum. one word posts also count as spam. this rule does not count in random messages threads or threads that have a one word post such as a "count to a thousand" thread.

5. mini-modding. mini-modding is when you act like you're a moderator or an administrator when you are not. being a tattle-tale or telling someone what's right and wrong is mini-modding. only the moderators and administrators have the power to tell people what's right and wrong and stop people from doing something we believe is against the rules.

6. double posting is a form of spam. double-posting is when you post countless of messages over and over again to bump up a thread or for your own entertainment. don't do it. it's annoying and will only get you attention from the moderators and administrators who will happily infract you. if it however is the cause of a forum bug, there is an exception. just edit your post saying "accidental double post" or something along the lines of that and the mods will come around and delete the post for you.

7. you can change your username all you want. i don't care how many times you do it, as i change my username often. however, if you do, please make sure to post in our name changes thread about your name change just so you won't cause confusion.

8. if you insult a superior, you will receive either a ban, an infraction, or a warning depending on what you said/did to them and how severe it was. if a staff member asks you to do something such as edit something explicit from your signature or whatever, just do it. don't be lazy and do it three days later, you will only get more infractions if you do that.

here's the oota (omen of the absol) caste system:
head administrator (the head of the forum)--> administrator--> moderator--> trainee moderator (moderators in training)--> regular users--> guests--> banned users.

9. thread necromancy (posting in a thread that hasn't received a reply in 40 days) is not allowed. usually, moderators go through these threads and lock them so nobody can answer. if however you manage to post in an old thread, you will receive a warning/infraction.

10. do not abuse smilies. this means do not post too many smilies in a single post. i myself despise smilies and i use them rarely, so if i see someone making a whole post all in smilies, i will lose my mind. there is a limit of 5 smilies in every post. yes, i know, that's a very restricted limit. you may already know why.

11. i do not mind cussing, as i myself have a very dirty mouth. keep in mind however that younger children may join this site, and they may see some bad words. i recommend you cut back on the cussing. if you feel as if you made a topic that's full of cuss words, make a warning of some sort or put it all in a spoiler tag. don't make a whole stream of cuss words.

ABOUT SIGNATURES:

Signatures should have a limit of their own as it should pop up as "error: signature is too long" when you edit your signature. however, there is no picture limit so i decided to make one myself.
do not put signature pictures bigger than 600x300 pixels in your signature. they will be removed and you will receive a warning/infraction.

oh, and another thing...
do not post links to pornographic sites, or put pornographic images in your signature. also, do not put insulting pictures in your signature. doing so will have the links/pictures removed and you will receive a warning/infraction/ban (only if it is pornographic)
